about Dr Mirun Thayaparan
After completing his medical degree in 2011, he has worked throughout hospitals in NSW, SA and NT gaining experience and skills for orthopaedics practice.
Dr Thayaparan achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (FRACS (Orth) and the Australian Orthopaedics Association (FAOrthA) in 2025. Wanting to further his skills, Dr Thayaparan completed a fellowship in robotic hip and knee arthroplasty at Prince Charles Hospital and St Vincents Northside in Brisbane. He then completed a further fellowship, being selected as the inaugural Brisbane Foot and Ankle Fellow. He has completed a Graduate Certificate of Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Newcastle in 2023 with Distinction.
In his spare time, Dr Thayaparan enjoys spending time with his family and is lucky to be the father of two boys. He enjoys keeping up to date with technology, something he extends to his surgical practice. He also enjoys training the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons and holds clinical associate lecturer positions with Adelaide University and Flinders University.
